When you were frustrated as a little kid at someone else, your mom might have told you to write down everything you don’t like about what happened on a piece of paper. Then she probably told you to rip the sheet out of your spiral bound notebook, crumple it up with gusto, and throw it in the fireplace. There! Don’t you feel better now?
Mom had the right idea.
Doing this of course frees your mind and your heart and opens things up for new thoughts and feelings. There’s little sense in holding on to resentment, as you well know it doesn’t hurt anyone but you.
